This movie like so many based on video games is very very poorly done. The creatures are at the same time supposed to be just animals with low intelligence and of high, the Zombie's created from their lava implanted on the human spine are at best lame. The fact that the final conflict between the agents and the creatures was so lame, no well organized group with the funding they had would have just one generator,why no portable to go with the lights they brought? Their security was noneseen by the fact the a guy was able to just walk in and destroy the one generator they had. The choppers by basic military tactics would never had flownlow and close to building that they did for the simple reason it would make them to easy to take out. WHen they new they were not going to be able to hold the open ground when the genny went, why did they not fortify the building to make their stand. The creatures looked a lot like the one from the relic and the museum chase was almost identical. The ending was a take right from resident evil. A major plot error with the creatures who can not stand sun light attacking them in the sun light? If you want to see a movie at least worth seeing go for The Relic and Resident Evil and kip this one. I feel sorry for the cast who were in this movie they are so much better then this.
Battlefield Earth illustrates just how bad movies can be, even with a star-studded cast. It was, in my opinion, the worst movie ever made.<br/><br/>But them Alone in The Dark came along, and I change my mind - now this takes over Earththe single, biggest piece of crap I've ever seen.<br/><br/>And to think that Hollywood never learned from Earth makes me shrouded in fear…<br/><br/>OK, where to start? Ah yes…the actors and director itself. The actors here are like puppets controlled by Mr. Uwe "Boll-ocks"…lifeless, clueless, and emotionless. Never I have seen Slater, Dorff and Reid sank so low in the acting department. They would make fine extraszombies in "Resident Evil", judging by their acting. And Boll-ocks needs directing classes immediately - I would be glad to sponsor him the whole course, rather than to sit through his movies ever again!<br/><br/>Then, there is the movie itself. What's with the intro? For Christ's sake, this ain't Star Wars!!! There's also the sex scene was not very 'encouraging', nor 'stimulating', the gun-battles which looks like "cowboy-vs-indians" kid games, and the dialogue seems to be spoken by brainless numbskulls. Example, why does Tara Reid has to say that 'some doors are never meant to be opened', even though they knew that the door is a portal to Hell? Does she think that Slater and Dorff are 10 year olds? Or, maybe she was addressing the viewers, whom by that time had already gave up on the movie? <br/><br/>The plot is totally senseless too…what the heck is the Abskani tribe anyway? The way the tribe was mentioned by the actors seems more like they originate from Mars rather than Earth. And to make us believe that they are an 'very advanced' race, being able to create a portal to the "dark side." That's'convincing' enough…like in Battlefield Earth, we're suppose to believe that Harrier jets can be flown by cavemen in 7 days…<br/><br/>About the creatures? They seemed like cross-breeds of the aliens in "Alien", "Species" and "Pitch Black" movies. Talk about one ugly mofo…and it's not even scary! By the way, these creatures are afraid of light. Therefore I don't see the reason why a whole city needs to be evacuated. All that is needed is to turn on the lights…and you'll be safe from them. Why the plothole? I don't know…and I don't really give a damn anyway! <br/><br/>And the music? Let's not go into there…my ears are still ringing from the excessive loud noice which was known"music"…<br/><br/>And now, Boll-ocks is doing BloodRayne, and my guess is, it would be a total stinker. Boy am I glad to hear that he is not planning a movie based on the video game "Doom"…or else, we're all "doomed" to suffer terribly from watching his movies again!
One of those rare instances of a movie being so bad … it's still really bad.
